It's been a few weeks without dear Bobbers in my life. I do feel a little empty sometimes looking at Bobbery Land and trying to visualize her there. Today when I went past the organic veggies section in the market, I felt sad that I don't have any bunny to buy the nice veggies for :(
Luckily we've been quite busy ever since we came back from our trip which leaves me less time to mope. But I do want to have a furry friend around soon.

Bobbi's garden

This is where Bobbers is resting now. Marked with the happy smiling bunny in the sitter's garden. Bobbers is the only pet I have that has been so blessed to have a pretty place to rest in, close to other bunnies so she has bunny friends which she didn't have while she was with me.
The other resting bunny is for Sarah, one of the sitter's bunnies who passed away just a week before Bobbers. It must have been a really tough time for them too and I really appreciate all they have done.
It is still tough not having her around and I really miss having a furry friend to greet me when I come home from work now.

Bobbi tributes

Received some lovely tributes to Bobbi - this one is from the sis
A card from one of my BLU friends. This is the best group of people ever who love their bunnies and everyone else's too.
Last night was a tough night for me being the first night we were back from the holidays, not having Bobbers around and knowing she will no longer be around. I could still hear her stomping in excitement when I get into the bedroom for the night. She used to be so excited because she knew would get veggies before I went to sleep, she would stamp her foot and jump in and out of her cage. I used to watch her guzzling her food and then flop down very satisfied after that.

Goodbye to a dear friend - 16 July 2005 to 22 April 2009
I had to make the decision to let Bobbers go off to the Rainbow bridge today. She was not eating or pooping and Xrays at the vet showed that she has a mass in her stomach which indicated she has uterine cancer. It had apparently also spread to her lungs. She was going to have a tough life ahead. It is hard to have her go and not come back anymore but I think it is the best for her because she wouldn't have to suffer too much.
Bobbers was the best bunny ever. She was one bun with attitude and personality and it was already hard for me to leave her each day to go to work.
I will always remember her cute face, beautiful whiskers, her soft furry nose that I kiss every day and how she purrs with joy when I give her jaw rubs. She had the prettiest bunny lips, thick luxuriant fur and soft puffy dewlap.
She made mornings worth getting up for. As soon as she sees us wake up, she would be jumping in and out of her cage in excitement. When the door to Bobbery Land opens, she would dash straight into the bathroom and hang around our legs, poking and prodding us for head rubs. A bit of nosying around to make sure no new stuff have appeared in the bedroom or she would have to mark it as hers. Sometimes she would sneak into the shower behind me and get her feetsies wet, leaving footprints all over the carpet.
Food time was always great for her. She LOVED food. I could spend ages watching her guzzling everything with great gusto. She would twitch with excitement when she got treats like apple, peach and strawberries. She would grunt at you so you do not touch her stuff once you put it down. :)
She had a favourite binky spot where you would be rewarded with a binky when you chase her there. She also loved to chase her little fleece blankie round and round and give it little nibbles when she got hold of it. She was a really happy and lively bunny.
I am glad that I have had her in my life and it would be hard to find another bunny with the spunk that she had. It has been a wonderful almost 4 years with her. See Baby Bobbers back then.
Bye bye my dearest Bobbi bunny (aka Bobbers, Chubbers). Love you lots.

Fur storm
Bobbers is molting. I have to try and pull out clumps of loose fur whenever I can from all over her body because she doesn't like the Furminator. Today when I was giving her head rubs, I tried pulling out the loose fur and she didn't seem to mind. So I pulled out as much as I could. A little fur storm arose :)

Hot hot day!

The heatwave of the year is currently on. Today we had temperatures reaching more than 42 degrees! Every degree it went up made me feel so bad for Bobbers at home. Although there is no sun directly reaching the balcony, it couldn't have been very pleasant for the furry fella. She was quite happy when I gave her a rub down with an icy cold stick when I got home.
Here she is very contentedly lying down in the cool of the toilet :)
Wish I could take her to work with me!

Bobbi Houdini
Something really funny happened last night when I went to give Bobbi her veggies before I went to bed. When I got to her "room" she was jumping up and down excitedly in her cage and the door to the cage was closed.
That is weird because the cage door is usually open as she lives in an enclosed balcony. She goes back to her cage to get her food and go on the toilet. I stood there for a long time trying to figure out how she could have ended up in there with the door closed.
I came to 2 conclusions:
1) She closed the door after she went in (Hehehe! That is quite funny to imagine).
2) I sometimes close the cage door before I put in food to prevent my arm being eaten in her haste to get to food. I might not have opened it again when I did that earlier. She would have had to leap in from the top opening which is about 1m high. But it would have been a really awkward entry unless she landed on the top of the cage first. Bobbers hardly jumps up on things though (except between levels in her cage for food). She is most ground-loving bunny I know...unless the call of food was just so great...Hehehe!

Yawning pics
I've been trying to get a good photo of Bobbers yawning but that is quite difficult because she only does that when she is sitting in her cage and waiting for me to come home. Once I get home and open the door to her room....YAAAAWWWN! And stretch and come out to say hello :) I've now just resorted to getting the pics of her in the cage.
