Singapore Day

We went to Singapore Day today to see what it was about since it is the first time being held here. I did not really try to imagine how many people there would be before getting there but there was really a lot! Lots of queues all over the place to get to eat local food for free, some entertainment on the stage and goodie bags to take home. We didn't even want to try queuing for the food because it was really quite ridiculous. The weather was lovely today though so that was good.

Look at the approximate waiting time! And you can only get one thing at a time because all the stalls are separate.

Stuff we got - cooking sauces, kaya, umbrellas, bags, picnic mat, drinks, noodles, other knick-knacks

Holiday

Back from a holiday to Singapore and to Hong Kong with Mammo, sis and bro-in-law! 10 days in total of shopping, eating and getting all my necessary services (e.g.: haircut, dentist, optician) done at lower prices. :) I also had the best flight ever coming back to Melbourne on one of the 777-300ERs on SQ which had a nice roomy seat and a beautiful large screen. I didn't have time to feel bored because playing games was great on a screen that size.

Kid art

We went past the underpass leading to the Esplanade on Thursday on the way to tea. One side of the underpass was all decorated with artworks done by kids. It was a really colourful sight! Here are some of my favourites.

I really liked the string of dolls all decorated by different kids which lined the entire stretch as a border

Mooncake!

I finally got what I've been waiting a long time for! Every year I try to at least have a couple of these yummy mooncakes from Raffles Hotel. I didn't get to have any last year. This year, I got the usual champagne truffle and a new one - dark chocolate with crunchy pearl.

Back in SG!

I'm back in SG again! Things always seem a little surreal once you haven't seen them for a while. Eg: Lush green foliage around, warm humid weather, clean streets (hehehe!).

Little man aka Small Bunny. He's shy - always hiding under the newspapers. He grunted at first when I patted him because he probably forgot who I am. But after a while I think he liked the attention.

Welcome back pressie from Mammo and Mathilda - box of bunny-shaped japanese mooncakes! I haven't opened them because I need to maximise their life span!
