Playing with colours

Here's my new "fun place" online right now. I've just spent a couple of hours coloring in patterns!

Phew!

We finally got some relief from the searing heat today. There was a cool change in the late afternoon with some sea breezes coming in and the temperature dropped quite drastically to something more normal.

A little bit of drama on the way home though. When we got home, there was no power in the building and we had to climb the stairs up not knowing if we would make it into our floor if the security wasn't working and the door was locked. We took the risk and luckily we could get in. We hung around for a while not knowing what to do without any power. I went for a shower and the power came back on. :D Hooray! It turned out that they were cutting power to ease up usage because of the large demand to cope with the heat recently.

We are going to have some more warm days but nothing like the heat we've had for the past 3 days so that is a big relief!

Hot hot day!

The heatwave of the year is currently on. Today we had temperatures reaching more than 42 degrees! Every degree it went up made me feel so bad for Bobbers at home. Although there is no sun directly reaching the balcony, it couldn't have been very pleasant for the furry fella. She was quite happy when I gave her a rub down with an icy cold stick when I got home.

Here she is very contentedly lying down in the cool of the toilet :)
Wish I could take her to work with me!

Happy CNY!

Happy Year of the Ox!
These are a pressie from Mammo for the Chinese New Year coming up in 2 days! Although there is no CNY mood here, at least we have a holiday this year because it's also Australia Day. :D We will probably just go out for a nice meal.

A tiny carrot

I found a really small carrot in the bunch of dutch carrots I got for Bobbers today. She wasn't too impressed with it but I was. It was still a perfect carrot shape with roots and greens but it was the size of a five cent coin.

Cute fish!

Came across this cute little gadget with swimming fish that you can feed by clicking your mouse. The fish follow your cursor too!

Bobbi Houdini

Something really funny happened last night when I went to give Bobbi her veggies before I went to bed. When I got to her "room" she was jumping up and down excitedly in her cage and the door to the cage was closed.

That is weird because the cage door is usually open as she lives in an enclosed balcony. She goes back to her cage to get her food and go on the toilet. I stood there for a long time trying to figure out how she could have ended up in there with the door closed.

I came to 2 conclusions:
1) She closed the door after she went in (Hehehe! That is quite funny to imagine).
2) I sometimes close the cage door before I put in food to prevent my arm being eaten in her haste to get to food. I might not have opened it again when I did that earlier. She would have had to leap in from the top opening which is about 1m high. But it would have been a really awkward entry unless she landed on the top of the cage first. Bobbers hardly jumps up on things though (except between levels in her cage for food). She is most ground-loving bunny I know...unless the call of food was just so great...Hehehe!

Yawning pics

I've been trying to get a good photo of Bobbers yawning but that is quite difficult because she only does that when she is sitting in her cage and waiting for me to come home. Once I get home and open the door to her room....YAAAAWWWN! And stretch and come out to say hello :) I've now just resorted to getting the pics of her in the cage.

My first zipper!

My first attempt at sewing something with a zipper! I have only been visualizing how to do it in my head so far and I've finally put pen to paper (or needle to cloth in this case). It doesn't seem too bad though :)
