Soccer mania

Just read this funny article in the news about what people can come up with to try and get tickets to watch the World Cup.

This morning we watched the Brazil vs Australia match on TV at 2-4am in the comfort of our bed, covered in quilts right up to my chin. There were 10,000 people out in Federation Square braving the cold (it was 9 degrees, not as bad as the forecasted 6 degrees but still bad anyway) to watch the match on the big screens. Australia lost anyway but they had so many chances to score something.

The Zombees on Tag Friends are now dressed as soccer players or referees brandishing red cards. How cute! :)

With the World Cup just around the corner, the tiny fellas on Tag Friends can also get to play their share of soccer. It is a bit of a challenge trying to get the ball in the goal. Luckily I was the only one on the field :)

Due to the soccer friendly between Greece and Australia tonight, there seems to be a buzz in the air around my office building since it is right opposite the Greek precinct. There are lots of people walking around with flags and scarves from lunch time...as the day progressed we could hear the fans celebrating in the street downstairs. At around 5pm they all headed down towards the MCG where the match was being held cheering and lighting flares along the way. Quite an atmosphere!
