Stitching night at Mikes

I finally made myself get up and go out to meet some new people at stitching night yesterday at Meet Me At Mikes. Got to meet and talk to Pip, Brooke, Peipei and Mel. Being the awfully shy person that I am, I think that is not too bad for a start. I'll get to meeting other people the next time. :D

I didn't get very far in completing my pattern but it is a good start for something I haven't done in ages. Pip also made pears for everyone and I won a prize in the lucky dip. There were pretty cupcakes, biscuits, tea and cordial so all in all a lovely night! I'll need to go again to finish my tea towel. Hehehe!

Visit to the Pixar exhibition

Went to the Pixar exhibition at ACMI today. It was interesting looking at all the various forms of illustration that go into the making of the movies and wishing I could draw!

Long lost poetry

While rummaging around in my boxes today, I found a collection of photocopied pages of a poetry book that I really liked a long while back. I wished that I could have that book so much that I kept borrowing it from the library. If I could remember what book that was now I would definitely buy it if I can find it.

A good sign!

Didn't put this up earlier because I couldn't get it out of my phone with my computer not set up. On the day that I collected the new apartment keys and went there, we actually saw a rainbow right before our eyes spanning right across the balcony! It was lovely and it was a really nice welcome. :D

Yummy!

Lots of strawberries at the market these days and they usually look large and lovely. They taste good too!

Another new beginning!

After a number of gruelling days & nights, we are finally beginning to settle down in our new place. We now have more space as well as a totally different view of the city so it is a nice change.

Bobbers was let out today for a survey of the house. She was quite excited and galloped all over the place :D (no sign of apprehension at being in a different place).

Craft fair

Went to the craft fair yesterday. Spent 2.5 hours walking around all the stalls. Lots of fabric again as usual and of course I had to come out with some :) Got some inspiration for stuff to make as well.

Green cracks

Saw this interesting sight when we went to church this morning. There was moss growing in all the cracks on the ground. Must be due to the rainy damp weather recently. It made for an interesting pattern.

Design Festival

We went to the Design Market which is part of the Design Festival for this year. This year's market was really crowded compared to previous years and I thought we were already there quite early. Half the time was spent jostling around to see what was on sale at each of the stalls. We didn't buy anything but it was interesting to see the ideas people have.
